The Big IDEA: “I’ll be back.”

Was it stressful? Sure.

Was it worth it? ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY!

After a month of working with Oyster, I’m extremely proud of all the things I was able to accomplish in such a short amount of time.

I’m a little sad to be moving away from the team here at Oyster (editor’s note: c’mon, only a little?), but I’m even more excited to see what else is in store for me with this program.

Over the last few weeks I’ve been developing my strengths (and identifying some weaknesses), like my writing and ability to work on a handful of projects at the same time. I’m still trying to get comfortable in meetings and have confidence in my ideas, but I can feel myself growing. I’m excited to continue that process of transitioning from a college student to a professional.

And I still have a lot to learn. But as I make my way through the Big IDEA Internship program, I’ll be challenging myself to continue learning and working to get the opportunity to (hopefully) return to one of the agencies I’m working with.

And now that I’ve had the chance to get to know these people at Oyster, I’m pretty sure they like having me around. 😉

I want to learn, try new things, refine my skills and even fail a little bit. What’s the worst that could happen?

I’m fortunate enough to have my foot in the door of where I want to be in my young career, so there isn’t much else to do except continue on the path I’ve created for myself in this industry. My parents raised me to take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way — so that’s what I’ll do. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Even though I’ll be moving on from Oyster, I’m positive this won’t be the last time you hear from me. It’s sort’ve like the Terminator said, “I’ll be back.” (except in this version the scene ends there, nobody gets hurt, and a young, charming professional named Anton exits the police station and kicks off his career in Communications 🤠)
